Installation question

C
E
Is it necessary to install a four-way valve?
Answer: Yes, it is required to install a four-way valve. Explanation: A four-way valve is a device that performs many useful functions, including: - protects the boiler against low-temperature corrosion - mixes the feed water back to obtain a constant medium for the central heating circuit or underfloor heating - enables smooth temperature regulation using an actuator - installs the valve to provide additional savings related to fuel - primarily protects our boiler against corrosion and extends the life of the boiler
C
E
What to do after boiling water in a kettle?
Answer: Don't panic. Usually, nothing serious should happen when you boil water in a boiler. The reason for the boiler boiling is the lack of heat collection, open ash pan door, or the addition of flammable fuel, e.g. newspapers. Explanation: In such a case, the controller switches on all pumps above 90°C, even if they are switched off, and opens the mixing valve to cool the boiler. If the door is open, close it. If it is a top-burning boiler, you can open the top door to cool the boiler faster. Cold water must not be allowed into the system under any circumstances - it may cause the boiler to explode.
C
E
What is the minimum boiler temperature?
Answer: The higher the better, but the minimum boiler temperature should not be less than 60°C. Explanation: The boiler should be adjusted so that at a boiler temperature of 60oC the flue gases are around 140°C. We will have the best boiler efficiency. All combustion conditions will be maintained. At such temperatures the boiler will not freeze or get damp due to the lack of flue gas condensation (dew point temperature).
C
E
Why is the central heating pump not working?
Answer: DHW priority is on. Schedule is on. Explanation: To eliminate the problem, disable DHW priority, set schedule.
C
E
Is it allowed to allow water into the system while the boiler is operating?
Answer: Allowing water into the system while the boiler is operating is prohibited. Explanation: Allowing water into a heated boiler creates the risk of leaks in the boiler and system. When the boiler is very hot, this can lead to leaks or cracks.
C
E
What is the minimum return temperature?
Answer: The minimum return temperature by book is 10°C less than the supply temperature. Explanation: In practice, without the use of mixing valves or other methods of mixing the boiler, this is practically impossible. It is advisable to install a four-way valve, with such an installation the boiler works on a short circuit at a high temperature, and the installation at any set temperature. Return protection at such a temperature is maintained and it can be said that it is equal to the boiler supply temperature.
C
E
Why does the controller close the mixing valve?
Answer: Return temperature too low, allow the boiler to slowly supply water to the central heating system, in the case of a long-term condition, place the return sensor closer to the mixing valve or change the minimum return temperature.

C
E
How long will a full tank of fuel last?
Answer: There is no single answer to this question. It can be assumed that a full fuel tank will last for 3-4 days. Explanation: The boiler's steady-state burn rate depends on: - the calorific value of the fuel - the degree of building insulation - the type of installation: underfloor heating, radiators, boiler - cleanliness of the boiler exchanger, ash content in the ash pan - outside temperature - temperature in the house - combustion quality
C
E
Why is smoke coming out of the boiler door?
Answer: Smoke is coming out of the boiler door due to lack of draft. Explanation: Brick up tightly the entrance of the flue pipe to the chimney. Check the patency of the chimney and its parameters, whether they are in accordance with the recommendations. Seal the outlet of the stove to the chimney pipe, preventing the intake of cold air. If the chimney cross-section is too small, an exhaust fan can be installed.
C
E
Why does the boiler get tarred?
Answer: There are several cases where the boiler becomes tarred, e.g. wet fuel, poor combustion conditions, oversized boiler, low boiler temperature. Explanation: Tightly brick up the flue pipe inlet to the chimney. In the first case, wet fuel produces too low a temperature of the exhaust gases and, as a result, condensation of the exhaust gases. In such a case, not only the boiler is tarred, but also the chimney. In the second case, there is usually simply too little air in the combustion chamber. Just add some air and the flame, the gases burn freely without precipitating carbon from the exhaust gases. In the case of an oversized boiler, the temperature is achieved very quickly and, as a result, the boiler will be idle more often than not working. The result will be that the gases in the exhaust gases will not burn out, i.e. the boiler will become tarred. Too low a boiler temperature is the worst mistake you can make. If the boiler is connected incorrectly to the installation, it is the thermostat in the house, which means that to reduce the temperature in the house, you have to reduce the boiler temperature. In this case, it is recommended to install mixing valves.
